UIHMT-ITR, Industrial Job Oriented Training Programs provides opportunities to inspire young life science, Medical Science and Pharmaceutical sciences professionals to work in major areas of Life Science. We have consistently offered dynamic hands on learning that build industry-relevant skills and life science research. And now we would like to take that a step further to the ultimate outcome: greater access to real job related opportunity for students across the country.

Hands on Training

We offer various hands on short-term training program in Life Science. These short term training are geared for academically determined students and research candidates. We assist students in bettering their understanding on a scientific problem and formulating the projects according to it.
As part of our commitment to human resources development for Life Science, Medical Science, Industries and Organizations, the training programmes offered by institute are completely practical oriented, providing the key concepts and high-end principle level protocols which ultimately results in trainee getting acquainted with the sophisticated equipment and the ability to interpret the experimental data.
Summer & Vocational Training are framed as a learning programme for all the basics of life sciences laboratories including biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and pharmaceutical sciences.

Ph.D & Research Work Facilities

UIHMT Institute of Training & Research is a well equipped laboratory with all the basic and advance instrumentation of life science research. We provide full guidance and support for the candidates to do their own research work for carrying out their own Ph.D. We had got experts for the Ph.D scholars for troubleshooting in the research work and to guide throughout the whole work as well.

Short Term Hands on Training on Tissue Culture

Tissue culture is an aseptic plant propagation method using vegetative parts of the plants under control conditions. This is a well-known and growing method to mass produce uniform, high quality and pathogen-free planting materials. In this particular training, participants will be exposed to practical hands-on of the laboratory techniques, and acclimatization and transplanting of the tissue culture-derived plantlets. This Hand-on-Training will cover orientation lectures along with hands-on experience in a variety of plant tissue culture techniques like media preparation, sterilization, explants preparation, aseptic inoculation, callus induction, direct multiple shoot induction, multiplication, in vitro and in vivo rooting, potting mixture preparation and acclimatization of tissue culture plants etc.

There will be lectures on following topics during the training programme

• Introduction and Basics of Plant Tissue Culture
• Microbial Contamination and Sterilization
• Nutrient requirement in Plant Tissue Culture
• Biosafety issues in Plant Tissue Culture.
• Micropropagation

Besides the lecture, there will be practical on following topics

• Samples Collection
• Sterilization
• Media Preparation
• Inoculation
• Sub-culturing
• Transplanting and Hardening

Eligibility

Under-Graduate and Post Graduate students in life sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Botany and Environmental Science etc.) and Research Scholars.

Library

UIHMT Institute of Training & Research is also well established with research material, article, literature, scientific journal, Books related Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry Pharma science etc. and Wi-Fi facility for literature survey. Students are also encouraged to use library facilities during their free time with their lab work.

Extra Curicular activities

UIHMT Institute of Training & Research provide different programme like Industrial visit, sample collection & literature survey during dissertation period, visit for instrumentation in different organization. UIHMT-ITR also provide visit in seminars, workshops/Symposium, conferences, Guest Lectures for training & researcher. UIHMT-ITR also organize different social awareness free programme like general health check up, physiotherapy camp, blood group camp, social awareness in poor and low socioeconomic community under the “Dream Yuwa Welfare Society”.

Placement

UIHMT-ITR is going on 100% placement. Presently we placed the students from Microbiology & Biotechnology division in different pharma & Herbal industries i.e. Hindustan unilever Limited, Shreeji Pharma & Lotous Pharma in Haridwar SIDCUL industrial region, various medical organization, & hospitality industries since July 2013.
